This year Hubs and I decided to do something different to celebrate the 4th of July.  We chose to not join  in bbq's or go on Ft Bliss for fireworks, instead we decided to spend the afternoon/night in Northeast El Paso.  We started the day by checking into the Candlewood Suites hotel, which shares/connects to the Carmike Cinemas parking area, where we walked over and saw a movie together.

After the movie, we walked up to Transmountain Great American Land & Cattle Company restaurant, which is also in the same area.  Hubs loved his meal, a HUGE steak. (More about our meal on this post)

Our evening ended with fireworks, and we had an amazing vantage point, since our hotel was directly across from the Cohen Stadium where the display was put on.  The fireworks lasted nearly 25 minutes, and they seemed like you could reach out and touch them we were so close!
